News: Young girl struck and killed when cars collide in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA – A young girl was killed when she was hit by a car following a collision at an intersection in Richmond on Sunday, WWBT reports.

The crash happened in the area of Jahnke Road and German School Road at about 5:23 p.m.  According to investigators, a Nissan Titan was struck by a GMC Yukon that was attempting to make a left turn while going west on Jahnke Road. The impact sent the Nissan through the intersection, where it struck the girl as she was walking in the vicinity.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity was not immediately released.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident.
