VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – A driver is under arrest following a fatal accident in Virginia Beach, according to WAVY.
Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Holland Road and Governors Way shortly after 8 p.m. Friday night. A woman driving one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the other driver, a man, tried to get away on foot, but officers apprehended him a short distance away from the scene. He was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The Fatal Crash Team is continuing to investigate the incident. Authorities believe speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
