News: Multiple injuries reported after vehicle crashes off of Norfolk Bridge

NORFOLK, VA – Two individuals were hospitalized following a collision that resulted in a vehicle falling off of a bridge in Norfolk Tuesday morning.

According to WAVY, the crash occurred near the intersection of Shore Drive and Little Creek at about 11:38 a.m. Officials at the scene say two vehicles were involved in the crash, one of which fell 40 feet off the bridge and landed on its roof.

All occupants inside the vehicle were able to safely get out by the time emergency services arrived. Police have not released specifics about which occupants were taken to the hospital as of yet. However, the investigation is ongoing.

Shore Drive was shut down for several hours, reopening shortly after 4:00 p.m.
