News: Motorcyclist killed following police chase, crash in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA – Investigators with the Virginia State Police have reported one fatality after a motorcycle fleeing from police collided with a truck Monday morning.

According to WTOP, the chase began sometime before 10:00 a.m. on I-90, when a trooper noticed a motorcycle without a license plate and attempted to pull its rider over. The motorcyclist instead sped off, and the trooper gave pursuit.

The chase lasted several miles and reached speeds upwards of 100 mph until the motorcyclist crashed into a pickup truck while running a red light on Route 301.

Details regarding the identity of those involved in the crash have yet to be released.

No other injuries were reported immediately following the crash.
