News: Driver killed when car overturns in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Police say a man driving at high speeds was killed when his vehicle overturned in Virginia Beach early Friday morning.

According to WAVY, Virginia State Police spotted the man driving a Mitsubishi Outlander at nearly 90 miles an hour on Interstate 64 at the Chesapeake/Virginia Beach line at about 12:50 a.m.

Authorities said the driver, identified as 24-year-old Jashion Jameel Brooks, refused to pull over when a trooper turned on his lights.

Brooks exited the highway and lost control when he turned on to Regent Drive. The car went off the road and overturned. Brooks died at the scene.  Authorities said he was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
