News: 3 injured when car hits horse-drawn carriage in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Three people were hospitalized after a car crashed into a horse-drawn carriage in Virginia Beach early Sunday, WAVY reports.

Police say a Toyota Camry hit the carriage from behind shortly after midnight as they were both going southbound in the 2100 block of Great Neck Road.

One passenger in the carriage sustained life-threatening injuries, while two other passengers suffered injuries that were not regarded as life-threatening.

The driver of the Toyota was not hurt, and the horse was treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
