News: 1 killed in Augusta County multi-vehicle crash

AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA – Law enforcement officials in Augusta County have reported one fatality resulting from a three-car collision southeast of Staunton Sunday morning.

According to WHSV, 43-year-old Charlotte Gingerelli, of Raphine, was killed when a Chevrolet Suburban traveling northbound on Route 262 crossed the center divider and struck Gingerelli’s Honda Civic head-on. The suburban then hit another vehicle behind Gingerelli’s.

Another individual involved in the crash was flown to UVA to be treated for potentially life-threatening injuries. Details regarding their condition have not yet been released.

No charges have been filed as of Thursday morning. The precise location of the accident has not been made public.
