2-Vehicle Crash in Virginia Beach Kills One and Injures 2 Others

A mother and her daughter checked out of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel Friday morning. They had turned out of the hotel’s parking lot and were traveling near the intersection of 35th Street and Pacific Avenue when they were struck by another vehicle.

The mom was driving a small Nissan when she turned onto Pacific Avenue. The next thing witnesses saw was a truck come toward the vehicle and T-bone her car. The impact sent the Nissan spinning across the road, hitting the truck that caused the accident at least two times.

The other passenger in the Nissan was taken to the local hospital with what were described as very serious injuries. The driver of the truck was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries. There has been no update on their condition since the crash.

Sadly, the woman driving the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. One witness said that he held the woman’s daughter who had crawled out of the vehicle. She was clearly very hurt and was bleeding pretty bad. He held her hand and waited for rescue personnel to arrive. He said the girl kept on asking if her mother had died. He didn’t have the heart to tell her that yes, he believed she had.

The police came to investigate the scene minutes after the crash. They have not released the identity of any of the victims. Nor have them provided the name of the man driving the truck that T-boned the Nissan.

The investigation is still ongoing and no charges have been filed as of yet.
