SUFFOLK, VA – A pedestrian was hospitalized this weekend after she was struck by a vehicle in Suffolk, according to WAVY.

The incident happened in the 200 block of North Main Street on Saturday afternoon shortly before 4:30 p.m. The woman was assessed following the accident and was found to have injuries that were not regarded as life-threatening.

The driver stayed at the scene and was issued a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Suffolk Police responded to the crash along with Suffolk Fire and Rescue. Authorities shut down two lanes of North Main Street while the scene was being cleared.
