News: Victim in Wednesday crash in Newport News identified

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Investigators with the Virginia State Police have identified the man killed Wednesday night in an accident involving a tractor-trailer.

According to 13 News Now, the collision occurred at about 10:30 p.m. within the eastbound lanes of I-64 near J Clyde Morris Boulevard. Police say 31-year-old Ryan Miller lost control of his vehicle while attempting to merge onto the interstate, striking a guard rail and then an oncoming tractor-trailer.

Miller was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased by authorities at the scene.

Officials have not released any information on if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. However, they have confirmed that Miller was not wearing a seatbelt.
