Richmond police investigating death of pedestrian hit by vehicle

RICHMOND, VA – Police in Richmond are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle Friday night, WRIC reports.

The accident happened at about 8:50 p.m. in the 2600 block of Hull Street, where a man appeared to have fallen while crossing the street. While he was lying in the street near E. Clompton Street, he was hit by a vehicle going east, investigators say.

The pedestrian, whose name was not released, died at an area hospital.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The incident is under investigation by the Special Operations Divisions-Traffic Crash Team of the Richmond police.
