News: Portsmouth hit-and-run leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

PORTSMOUTH, VA – Police responded to the scene of a deadly hit-and-run crash in Portsmouth Friday night, 13 News Now reports.

The incident was reported in the 220o block of Jefferson Street shortly after 8 p.m.  Authorities said three pedestrians were struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. One of the victims, an adult woman, was pronounced dead at an area hospital.  A second adult and a juvenile were injured in the crash.

No information has been released yet about the vehicle or the driver responsible for the crash. Anyone with information was asked to contact Portsmouth Police.
