News: Police searching for suspect involved in fatal Virginia Beach hit-and-run

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Law enforcement officials with the Virginia Beach Police Department are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver responsible for a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run Monday night.

According to WAVY, the incident happened within the 6000 block of Indian River Road at about 9:40 p.m. Paramedics pronounced the female victim dead at the scene.

The driver responsible for the crash fled the scene without rendering assistance to the victim. Police believe they were driving a white or silver sedan with significant damage to the front left side.

This portion of Indian River Road was shut down for several hours following the crash but has since been reopened.
