News: Police chase of stolen vehicle ends in crash in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, VA – A police chase of a stolen car late Tuesday night ended in a fiery crash in Chesapeake, according to WAVY.

Police initially tried to stop the Infiniti Q50 after an officer spotted the vehicle with its headlights off at about 11:15 p.m. The vehicle sped away and the pursuit was called off after officers lost sight of it near Kempsville Road.

A short time later, dispatchers were notified that the car had crashed near the intersection of Great Bridge Boulevard and Willow Point Arch.  The vehicle caught fire after the crash and the two suspects had fled by the time police arrived on the scene.

Authorities confirmed that the car was stolen out of Virginia Beach.

No injuries have been reported.
