News: Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle on I-95 in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA – A man was killed when he was hit by a car on a Richmond highway early Friday, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The incident happened in the center lane of Interstate 95/64 near mile marker 75 at about 12:30 a.m. Virginia State Police said the pedestrian, identified as 22-year-old Muhammad Khan, was hit by a northbound 2005 Volvo. Khan, a Falls Church resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Volvo’s 35-year-old driver was uninjured and remained at the scene. Investigators do not believe speed was a contributing factor in the accident.

It was not known why Khan was on the interstate.
