News: One killed after weekend crash in Henrico

HENRICO, VA – Officials with the Virginia State Police are investigating the cause of a crash that left one person dead Sunday night.

According to WWBT, the collision happened within the southbound lanes of I-295 on the Varina-Enon Bridge shortly after 9:00 p.m.

Police say two vehicles were involved in the crash and that one fatality was reported as a result. Authorities shut down all southbound lanes for a few hours while the crash was investigated and cleared from the interstate.

No information regarding the identities of those involved or the cause of the crash has been made available as of Monday morning.
