News: Man killed when car crashes into lawn mower in Hampton

HAMPTON, VA – A crash in Hampton involving a car and a riding lawn mower left one man dead and another injured Saturday night, 13 News Now reports.

According to the Hampton Police Division, a Chevy Malibu hit the lawn mower from behind as both vehicles were heading west in the 1900 block of Shell Road shortly after 11 p.m.

The driver of the lawn mower, identified as 62-year-old Floyd Arthur Howard, Jr. of Hampton, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Another man on the mower was hospitalized, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
