News: Man killed in Franklin County rollover crash

FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – Officials with the Virginia State Police have released the identity of a man killed in a rollover collision Tuesday afternoon.

According to WSLS, the accident occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. along Route 623, north of Route 605.

Police say 54-year-old Cary Woody lost control of his Jeep Grand Cherokee and drove off the right side of the road into a barrier before overturning.

Woody was not wearing his seatbelt on at the time of the crash, and died as a result of his injuries.

An investigation into the official cause of the crash remains underway.
