News: Driver injured after running off road, landing on Route 10

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – A driver was injured when his vehicle ran off an interstate in Chesterfield County and landed on another roadway Wednesday afternoon.

According to WRIC, the man was driving a Saturn Navigator north on Interstate 295 at about 2:45 p.m., when he lost control of the vehicle south of East Hundred Road and drove off the highway.

Virginia State Police said the car went into the median and then fell onto Route 10 East.

The driver, the only person in the vehicle, was hospitalized with injuries that were said to be life-threatening.

All lanes in both directions on Route 10 were shut down near the I-295 ramp after the crash, but were later reopened.
