Chesterfield police officer hurt in accident while responding to call

CHESERFIELD COUNTY, VA – A Chesterfield County police officer was one of three people injured in an accident southwest of Richmond on Saturday night, WRIC reports.

The crash happened at the intersection of Hicks Road and Hull Street Road, where police say the officer was responding to a call when his vehicle was hit by a truck.

The officer was seriously injured but was expected to be released from the hospital within the next few days. Two other people sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Chesterfield County police are investigating the crash. So far no charges have been filed.
