News: 3 injured in accident on U.S. Route 460 in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, VA – Three people were injured, two seriously, in an accident that tied up traffic in Lynchburg Friday morning.

According to WFXR, two vehicles were involved in the crash on U.S. Route 460 West (Richmond Highway). One of them overturned.

Police arrived on the scene by 9:26 a.m. The three injured people were taken to Lynchburg General Hospital.  The Virginia Department of Transportation said all westbound lanes on U.S. Route 460 were shut down near the intersection with U.S. Route 29, and traffic was backed up for two miles.

The highway reopened later that morning.
