News: 20-year-old Portsmouth woman killed in crash in James City County

JAMES CITY COUNTY, VA  – A woman from Portsmouth was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-64 Tuesday morning.

According to the Virginia Gazette, the accident occurred near the 228 mile marker on I-64 shortly before 9:40 a.m.

Police believe 20-year-old Taalibah Malikah Gray lost control of her 2005 Nissan Altima while driving in the eastbound lanes of the interstate. Gray’s vehicle skidded off the road and struck a tree, killing her instantly.

Gray was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. A preliminary investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
