News: 2 dead, 4 critically injured following Fauquier County collision

FAUQUIER COUNTY, VA – Two people have died and multiple others are in the hospital following a head-on collision in Fauquier County Monday afternoon.

According to the Virginia State Police, the accident occurred on Freemans Ford Road near its intersection with Fox Groves Road at about 2:52 p.m.

Investigators say the driver of a Ford Fusion, 19-year-old Savion Rojas-Smith, crossed the centerline to pass a vehicle and then collided head-on with an oncoming Honda Accord carrying three people.

Two passengers in the Ford were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Rojas-Smith was rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital to be treated for potentially life-threatening injuries.

All three occupants in the Honda were flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital following the crash, and are listed in critical condition.

No updates regarding the conditions of those injured in the crash have been released.
