News: 2 arrested in Virginia Beach accident that killed bicyclist

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Two people are under arrest following a deadly bicycle accident last week in Virginia Beach, according to WAVY.

This is an update to a previous story.

A man riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Indian Lakes Boulevard and Halifax Drive just after 8 p.m. last Thursday. The victim, identified as 59-year-old Edward Charles Richardson, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two people arrested were Virginia Beach residents Anthony Francis Tempesco, 19, and Hallam Alexander Guiler, 18.  They are facing charges of racing and causing serious injury or death, though it is not yet known which of the two was driving the vehicle. They are due in court Wednesday for bond hearings.

The area of the crash was closed for several hours during the police investigation.
