News: 1 injured in Chesterfield tractor-trailer crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – One person was rushed to the hospital following a three-car collision involving a tractor-trailer in Chesterfield Thursday morning.

According to NBC 12, the crash happened along I-95 near mile-marker 62 shortly before 6:00 a.m. Investigators say the crash occurred when a BMW traveling in the southbound lanes struck a barrier on the side of the road.

A tractor-trailer driving behind the car attempted to swerve out of the way and also struck the barrier, causing it to go through the wall and into an oncoming pickup truck.

Details regarding which occupant was injured in the crash or the extent of their injuries have not yet been released.
