News: 1 dead, 1 injured in three-car crash in Augusta

AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA – One person was killed and another was injured in a three-vehicle crash on Route 262 Sunday, NBC 29 reports.

The accident occurred when a northbound vehicle drifted into the southbound lanes and hit another vehicle head-on. It is unclear how the third vehicle became involved.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was seriously injured and taken to UVA Medical Center by helicopter.

A trooper with the Virginia State Police said that this was one of several recent collisions to occur on Routes 262 and 254.
