ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA – Investigators with the Virginia State Police have released information regarding the cause of a trucking accident on I-81 that severely injured one person Tuesday.
According to WHSV, the 2018 International tractor-trailer experienced a mechanical issue causing the driver to lose control and veer off of the road, colliding with a guardrail and bridge pillar before overturning.
The driver of the truck, a 65-year-old man from Chicago, was rushed to Sentara RMH Medical Center to be treated for potentially serious injuries following the crash. His current status remains unknown at this time.
