Man Critically Injured in Pedestrian Accident in Virginia Beach

Whenever the police respond to the report of a pedestrian accident, they expect the worse. The human body simply can’t withstand the impact of a car or SUV. Usually, these accidents result in serious injuries or even death. This seemed to be the case this week in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The police were called to a scene near Holland Road and South Plaza Trail in Virginia Beach. This was at about 7:45 pm on Friday, March 6, 2020. They were responding to the report of a pedestrian accident.

When they arrived at the scene, they found the body of an adult male lying on the side of the road. The man was obviously suffering from some pretty serious injuries. They arranged for EMS to take him to the local hospital. Authorities said that he had suffered what they believed were possible life-threatening injuries. The man’s name and age were not released.

The driver of the SUV that hit the male pedestrian did stay at the scene. Thankfully, they didn’t flee the scene the way a lot of drivers do in these sorts of accidents. He waited for the police to come and do their initial investigation.

Given the seriousness of the victim’s injuries, the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team has taken over the investigation. They have not indicated that any charges will be filed in this case. However, they can’t be sure until they’ve completed their investigation.

The name of the other driver has also not been released. Nor has the make and model of his car. The police have only confirmed that the car that hit the victim was an SUV.
