Hit and Run Crash Kills Man on Hull Road

Early on Sunday morning, someone near Hull Street Road saw a figure in the street and contacted the Richmond Police Department. When Richmond PD responded to the body in the road, they realized that this was clearly the victim of a hit and run accident. Hit and runs have been on the rise in recent weeks in Richmond and in many other areas throughout Virginia.

The victim was announced as dead at the scene as police arrived on the 5200 blocks on Hull Street Road. The current belief is that the victim, a Richmond man, was attempting to cross Hull Street Road and was then hit by a vehicle. The police are not aware of the make or model of the car, only that the crash happened between 2 and 2:30 in the morning on Sunday.

Police report that from the information they gathered, the vehicle in question is likely either silver or grey. Additionally, it should have severe damage to the front end, most probably near the passenger side of the front. Anyone seeing a silver or grey vehicle with right-side front end damage and/or a cracked or broken windshield should contact the police.

The collision happened nearest to Tony’s Auto Repair, a well-known local new and used tires shop. Information about the collision is currently kept quite as police don’t have much information and are hoping that they’re contacted with news about the driver, or a suspicious vehicle.

Anyone with information should contact the Richmond Police Department, or specifically speak with the investigator R. Rose. Additionally, those who have information but would prefer to remain anonymous can provide information through Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers is reachable through 780-1000 by phone or on 7801000.com, which allows people to report information without speaking directly to Richmond PD.
