High School Senior Killed in West Virginia Crash

Whenever we hear that someone was killed in a car crash, we say a little prayer for the family. But it’s even harder to learn that a teenager was killed in a car accident in Virginia. To have their life cut so short is just devastating. Sadly, this was the case Thursday night in Charles Town, Virginia.

A 17-year old student from Jefferson High School, Dylan Mills, was driving his Kia Sorrento on Route 51 near Ambler Road Thursday night. His friend, 17-year old Hunter Muse was in the car with him. At the same time, a 30-year old woman, Alisha Shamburg, was driving in the opposite direction.

For reasons unknown, the two cars collided. One of the cars even caught on fire after the impact. The police responded to the scene and found not one, but two people dead at the scene. One of them was the young Hunter Muse who was pronounced dead right away. The driver of the second car, a Dodge Ram, was also pronounced dead on arrival.

The driver of the Kia Sorrento was seriously injured and was airlifted to the local hospital. He was listed as being in stable condition.

There is no cause yet listed for the crash. It happened at about 7:20 pm. There is no indication that impairment or weather played a role in the crash. The investigation is still ongoing.

The families of the victims will certainly want to talk to an attorney to see if they have a potential legal claim. It will really come down to what’s revealed in the investigation.
